This course will build an expertise in the historical milestones and influences within teacher education. Furthermore, develop an expertise in how historical influences impact teacher education today and moving forward.

The Knowledge of Teaching bridges the gap between cognitive science theory (how the brain works) and instructional leadership (how to teach students and lead colleagues). This course will build on expertise (based on research and evidence-based practices) in understanding and applying the Science of Learning into teaching. Additionally, there will be a focus on knowledge in adult learning principles to facilitate collaboration and student-centered success.

This is an advanced seminar designed to prepare future teacher education leaders in critical examination of theoretical, philosophical, social, and practical underpinnings of teacher education.
