Introduction to the fundamentals of film study, including history, theory, and analysis of film and other visual media.
Prerequisite: (EH 101 Minimum Grade of C) and (EH 102 Minimum Grade of C or EH 105 Minimum Grade of C)  
FS 300  International Cinema  3 cr  
Survey of films covering a national or regional cinematic tradition, from Europe, the Americas (non-USA), Asia, or Africa. May be repeated four times, so long as national or regional focus differs substantially each time.
Prerequisite: EH 102 Minimum Grade of C or EH 105 Minimum Grade of C  
FS 301  Major Directors  3 cr  
Survey of films covering the work of a major director. May be repeated four times, so long as directorial focus differs substantially each time.
Prerequisite: EH 102 Minimum Grade of C or EH 105 Minimum Grade of C  
FS 302  Major Genres  3 cr  
Survey of films within one or more specific genres, such as melodrama, thriller, western, film noir. Can be repeated four times, so long as generic focus differs substantially each time.
